18 November 2009Earlier this year, South African track athlete Caster Semenya was vilified in the international media for allegedly having both male and female biological characteristics. People with such characteristics are known as “intersex”. Green Left Weekly’s Farida Iqbal spoke to Gina Wilson from the Organisation Intersex International (OII) about Semenya and intersex politics.

ReplyDeleteJust a heads up. Gina Wilson does NOT represent all Intersex people and is actively refusing to represent any Intersex person who's opinions are different than hers. Discussion on Bodies Like Ours clearly shows that the majority of Intersex people in Australia do not like what Gina is doing, and do not feel she is representing us.
